Kelly Bowker began dancing in Michigan
and received her BFA from the University of Michigan. Kelly performed with Clancyworks, Catscratch Theater and as an apprentice with the Liz Lerman Dance Exchange before moving west. Since arriving in San Francisco Kelly has danced with HerPic Productions, Gretchen Garnett and Ishika Seth. Before forming Kelly Bowker and Dancers Kelly's choreography was shown at the American College Dance Festival, Liz Lerman Dance Exchange, at ODC as part of their pilot program and in gymnastic floor routines throughout Maryland, Michigan and California. |
Jenny Bennett received her BFA from the University
of Massachusetts. She had the opportunity to perform works by Robert Battle, Fritha Pengelly, Terese Freedman, Trisha Brown, and Doug Varone. Jenny has taught dance in Massachusetts, Chicago, and San Francisco. In addition to working with Kelly Bowker, she dances with the Riley Project and collaborates with Stacey Swan. |
Leah Curran was born in Devils Lake, North Dakota,
where she began her dance training and attended the University of Montana where she received a B.A. in Dance Performance and Choreography, as well as a B.S. in Finance. Leah moved to the Bay Area in 2007 and has since performed with The Riley Project, Aura Fischbeck Dance, Gretchen Garnett & Dancers, and the Pfeifle Dance Project. She has been dancing with Kelly Bowker and Dancers since 2009 and is board member of Push Dance Company. When not dancing, she works full-time for Capital Group, a mutual fund management company. |
Gretchen Garnett has been part of the Bay Area
dance community since 2005. She has danced for companies including Dance Elixir, peck peck dance ensemble, RAWdance and Janice Garrett and Charles Moulton and currently works with Kelly Bowker & Dancers, Ishika Seth & Dancers and Aura Fischbeck Dance. In 2008 she formed Gretchen Garnett & Dancers, which has created and shown work in San Francisco, Berkeley and Marina, CA and across the country in Arizona, Michigan and New York. Jackie Goneconti is from Nyack, New York
and began dancing at the age of four. The infatuation began quickly enough as she realized that no matter how far she pushed her physical limits, there always seemed more to do. She trained in classical ballet from early age, including at summer programs such as Pennsylvania Ballet's the Rock School, Boston Ballet and NYSSA. Jackie earned a B.A. in both Psychology and Urban Design at New York University while continuing to pursue her contemporary dance career. Jackie has enjoyed dancing with Eva Dean Dance and Sens Productions in New York as well as with Zhukov Dance Theater and Garrett + Moulton in San Francisco. When not with Kelly, Jackie currently dances with Gretchen Garnett & Dancers and Copious Dance Theater. |
Whitney Rickards hails from Juneau, Alaska, where
she received artistic training from German ballet master Eckhard Heidrich. She later obtained her Bachelor’s degree at Goucher College in Baltimore, Maryland, where she studied French and Dance. Since moving to San Francisco, Whitney has performed in works by Charles Gushue and Paco Gomes, as well as Janice Garrett and Charles Moulton, with whom she works closely. Whitney is pleased to be involved with Kelly Bowker and Dancers as a continuation of her Bay Area adventures. |
